Does the Queen Wear Her Crown in Bed?

The Royal Wedding may be over but the Royal Family isn’t stepping out of the limelight quite yet. Over the years, the Queen has received many letters from children asking questions about the Royal Family and the Palace. To answer these questions the Queen has come out with a book entitled ‘Does the Queen Wear Her Crown in Bed?” written by Marion McAuley and illustrated by Katy Sleight.

The pages are done in a mixed media format, with drawings of two children and their guide in photographs of the location they are talking about on the page. The illustrations are well done, with the children and their guide artfully drawn in and are shown standing in the crowds in front of the palace or sitting on the steps next to the thrones. The book will answer lots of questions that young readers may have about the Royal Family and discusses the palace, the crowns, day to day activities as well as special events.

It’s currently only available in Royal Collection shops but North Americans or anyone outside of the U.K can order this book  through the Royal Collection shop online.

This book is recommended for children up to the age of 8 and is very well timed, given that the recent Royal Wedding has caught the eye of us commoners. And yes, Kate Middleton and her gorgeous wedding dress are showcased on a page in the book.
