Click, Clack, Moo: Cows That Type

If you live in Ontario you’ve probably heard about the support staff at Ontario colleges going on strike.  While I hope that everything is settled soon and these workers are able to get back to their jobs quickly, and in the meantime here’s a book for them (or their children).

Click, Clack Moo: Cows That Type is a funny story that shows barnyard animals going on strike to get Farmer Brown to improve their living conditions. Written by Doreen Cronin and illustrated by Betsy Lewin (the same team that did Thump, Quack, Moo: A Whacky Adventure) it uses the lovable Duck as the go between for Farmer Brown and the cows…and the hens…and…

It’s a great way to introduce the concept of a strike to children, especially if they have seen the picket lines and are a little confused as to what’s going on. It’s also available in a great video available on youtube, narrated by Randy Travis and animated with words on screen so that they can read along.
