Literacy Express, Governor General’s Awards and a Book Sale.

All Aboard the Literacy Express: The Eva Rothwell Resource Centre will be turning an out of use train car built in 1954 into a literacy centre that will be used by adults during the day and children after school. The literacy centre will have space for a library as well as a homework area and tutoring.

If you live in the Oakville area, check out the library book sale held by the Friends of the Library. The sale runs from November 9-13 and will be selling books, CDs and DVDs at $1.25/lb. The Oakville Public Library system is facing budget cuts of up to 10% so come out, stock up on some new to you books and media and support yourpublic library. Sale information and hours here.
