Movie Monday- Safe and Sound Music Video Premiere

Tonight the music video for Safe and Sound, Taylor Swift’s song for the Hunger Games soundtrack will be debuted. According to articles on MTV’s website it will be shown on MTV at  7:54 p.m and at 8:00 p.m on, MTV’s international websites, and probably on several YouTube channels at 8:01 p.m.

The song itself has already been released, and a minuscule teaser has been released here for Americans. Everyone else can watch it here.

I must say I’m not a huge fan of the song. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a very nice song, very sweet. Taylor Swift has a great voice and I have enjoyed some of her other songs. It just seems a little bland to me, which is great because bland seems to be the theme for the Hunger Games movie. The books had such a spark to them, a current of energy running through them which fizzled out in the last book. From all of the trailers, teasers, songs and movie stills it looks like the spark that fizzled in the last book may be permanently out.

What do you think? Bland and boring,  perfectly suited to the movie or somewhere in the middle?

*Update* Here’s the video, skips in a few spots. I’m not really impressed, it doesn’t feel like the Hunger Games to me. Oh look, Taylor Swift is walking through the woods. Now she’s sitting. Now she’s walking through a field. One big meh.
