Snuggle Up and Read, Human Library and Family Literacy Day

It’s been a good week for literacy! Thursday was Snuggle Up and Read Day which I always enjoy. This year I celebrated by wearing my pajamas to work 🙂 I work at an early learning and child care centre (also known as daycare) and the kids had fun wearing their pajamas during the day and snuggling up with their favourite stuffed animals and a good book!

Today Hamilton Public Library is having a Human Library event at the Central Library. You can “check out” a human book for a conversation with them about their lives. They have a wide variety of people to talk to, from a cancer survivor to a drag queen to a refugee artist and many others. You can find more information here.

Sunday is Family Literacy Day. This is a Canada wide event with lots of literacy events for  all ages. For an event near you check out ABC Life Literacy. Their events page is here.
